Pride of place this week goes to the Risbygate Men's team, who won through to the Norfolk & Suffolk Cup final following an excellent, if close, semi-final win.
The Ladies' team, unfortunately just failed to make it a duo of final appearances after losing to Woolpit in the Norfolk & Suffolk semi-final tie.
In that match, Dorothy Donaldson and Sue Woodward came close, in particular in their third set, which they lost 7-5.
However, generally they were a little under par in the other three, losing 6-3, 6-1, 6-3.
On the other hand, Salome Smit and Sarah Walker were in fine form. After losing their first set 6-4, the duo produced convincing scores of 6-1, 6-4, 6-1.
These results were almost, but not quite enough to even the match, so Woolpit march on to the final with the good wishes of all at Risbygate.
Woolpit provided the opposition in the Norfolk & Suffolk Men's competition.
Risbygate's main thrust came from Andrew Coulthard and Sam Ratcliffe, who played the ideal match, winning three and three against a strong Woolpit first pair.
This was followed by a 6-3, 6-1 win against the opposition second string.
However, this match could not have been won without a solid performance from Risbygate's second pair of Nicholas Mamier and Nick Porter, who came through an extremely close first rubber 7-5, 6-3.
This meant that, although they lost their final two sets to the powerful Woolpit first pair, the two points secured earlier were enough to clinch the tie 6-2, and to give Risbygate a place in the final on Saturday, September 2.
Through to the semi-final of the Grays Cup are the Men's I, who just defeated Gransdens at home on a countback of sets won, after the match finished two rubbers apiece.
Peter Herriott and Kelvin Morton lost to Gransden's first pair 6-0, 3-6, 4-6 but won against their second string 6-0, 6-1.
Geoff Johnson and Toby Hall did the reverse, winning against the firsts (love and love) but losing 6-0, 4-6, 4-6 to the seconds. On to the semi-final against Cambridge, the opposition having home advantage.
Men's A played their final Norfolk & Suffolk League fixture of the year, meeting local rivals Victory at home.
The visitors came out on top and took the two points, following an evenly-contested match.
For Risbygate, Neil Bradley and Toby Hall lost three sets, rather unluckily in two, with scores of 7-5, 7-6, before scoring a deserved 6-3 win in their final set of the match.
Chris Caulfield and Alex Coulthard also won their final set, also tight, against Victory's No 1, but just failed in the other three even contests, to leave Victory 6-2 winners.
